Hot Stone Massage is also know as Thermal Stone Massage

This treatment combines massage and the use of heated and/or chilled stones to promote physical and emotional healing. This treatment is rooted in ancient practices and modern therapeutic techniques.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a therapeutic technique where smooth, heated stones are placed on specific points of the body and used by the therapist to massage muscles. The heat from the stones helps to relax muscles, improve circulation and alleviate tension, making it an effective treatment for stress, muscle stiffness, and chronic pain.

The combination of warmth and massage provides a deeply relaxing experience.

We use basalt stones (a volcanic rock that retains heat well), these stones are heated to around 120–130°F (49–54°C).
The heat helps:
-
Relax muscles deeply
-
Improve blood flow and circulation
-
Release tension and stiffness
-
Promote a calming, soothing effect

Cold Stone Massage
A refreshing treatment using smooth, chilled stones to soothe inflammation, calm the nervous system, and ease tension. Ideal for headaches, sinus pressure, and muscle recovery, this cooling therapy promotes clarity, balance, and deep relaxation.

We use marble stones (which retains coolness), these stones are chilled and used to:
-
Reduce inflammation and swelling
-
Constrict blood vessels and stimulate the lymphatic system
-
Soothe sore or overworked muscles
-
Invigorate and refresh the body

The Contrast: Hot & Cold
The alternating application of hot and cold stones:
-
Stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems
-
Helps flush out toxins
-
Encourages muscle repair and recovery
-
Balances the autonomic nervous system (calming and energising effects)
-
Can support pain relief in conditions like arthritis, sports injuries, and chronic muscle tension
